Meiwa Kumquat Information and Care
Meiwa kumquat trees are not as well-known as Nagami. This variety of kumquat tree is similar to the Nagami kumquat in appearance, however it produces sweet fruit with no acidity. Therefore, they are not sour like Nagami kumquats.
Meiwa trees are semi-dormant in winter, so they can withstand temperatures below freezing. The flowering season is in summer, and the fruits mature in late winter. The flesh is light orange, contains a few seeds, and is slightly acidic. A much sweeter variety than Nagami.
Plant and grow kumquat trees in the full sun and well draining soil. Trees can be kept small with regular pruning
